Jussi Fest in Strömsbruk
The world famous tenor Jussi Björling had his roots in Strömsbruk. His father David Björling was born here and Jussi’s grandfather was a blacksmith at the ironworks.
It’s therefore quite natural that the Jussi Björling Society holds an annual concert weekend in Strömsbruk in honour of Jussi Björling.
The whole village backs up the event which has been able to offer a quality and range of artists that are seldom seen on such a rural stage.
This year, 2011, we celebrate the 100 year birthday of the world famous opera singer and we’re looking forward to yet another extraordinary weekend.
The Jussi Fest is held in the middle of September – please see our events calendar under the “News” menu above.
